Critical thinking is making judgments based on reasoning,Ā  it also encompasses a set of abilities that students use to examine their own thinking and others about information that they receive through observation, experience, and various forms of communication. This competency is developed when students have the skills to own their own learning and using ā€œI’’ statement. They are able to personalize their own their learningĀ  by connecting, and engaging with others, For example, ā€œ IĀ  can ask, and respond to simple direct questionā€. “I can acquire, interpret, and present information”,Ā  “I can share information about a topic that is important to meā€.Ā  ā€œ I can work with others to achieve a common goal” My understanding of core competency and its benefit to my pedagogical beliefsĀ  and social dynamics is tremendous.Ā  When students are thought,Ā  and start to develop the use of “I can” statement,they have positive,and cultural identity that shapes their self-worth, develop their self esteem, andĀ  create self-awareness. They begin to see possibilities even inĀ  work the struggle with, and develop that growth mindset that enable them to push through their challenges. They become individuals that take satisfaction in who they are, increases class engagement,Ā  curiosity to learn and make inquiry, great attitude to learn, and there will be zero management issuesĀ  for teachers to deal with. When students recognizes their cultural identity, they know they are contributing to their own well-being, their family, community, and society at large.

Ā I will use all the core competence in my classroom because it is the way students own and reflect on their own learning. Core competency is embedded intoĀ  the curriculum to support students’ learning, and help them develop skills that will help them in the fast digital world,Ā  TheĀ  21st century skill that are highly valuable to future employers are skills like problem solving,Ā  collaboration and teamwork, financial literacy,Ā  creativity/ innovation, responsibility, communication, intercultural awareness, numeric and scientific literacy, and information and digital literacy.Ā
