Educators contribute to their profession.

Throughout my school practicum, observations and volunteer opportunities, I have been amazed by the extent to which educators have offered their support, advice and resources. Not only have my school advisors been generous in this regard, but also many other colleagues who have no formal connection to me. From my limited experience within schools, it appears that teachers have a strong sense of community and readily work together to improve the education opportunities for students. It has also been apparent that many educators contribute to the profession by volunteering to mentor new teachers, sharing knowledge and provide learning opportunities for their colleagues.

Being a new teacher, I have been so grateful for all of the support provided to me by my CT and hoped that I could return their generosity in some way. Fortunately, some of my resources were of interest to them and I gladly shared my art  project , math manipulative for shapes, addition and subtractions,  and science experiment resource.

It is very satisfying to be part of a school community that builds on itself. As I gain in experience and further develop my teaching skills, I aim to share whatever expertise I have acquired so that I can become a valuable part of the school community and a regular contributor to the profession.
