Educator implement effective practices in areas of planning, instruction, assessment, evaluation and reporting.

During the 391 practicum,  lesson plan are prepared a day before the lesson and classroom learning activities indicate thoughtful planning has taken place in advance of lesson. Differentiation noted in my lessons.  I also wear the FM system for the hearing challenged students; making sure the student stay in sight so that she can read my lip when I am talking. My planing is linked to knowledge of classroom diversity and to students needs and ability. I also work with E A to let them know what  know what activities or lesson  I will like them to support struggling students with. Every student in my class get the access point and I encourage the EA to sit with them in class during instruction before taking them out for independent practice or activities. I wasn’t able to do much of assessment and reporting on this practicum , however, I worked with my Coaching teacher writing report cards. I also gave students feedback on their group projects and individual work .  I establish a good rapport with my student. Always  patient to listen to them and ready to help at anytime.  My classroom was reflexive of respectful, positive, and inclusive environment for student learning and development.

An example if a lesson unit I taught students on advertising.  This lesson unit was unique because  students worked great together as a group and product of their project was phenomenal  with lot of creativity.

In EDUC 490 O taught  grade 3 students the important of visualizing in other to construct meaning in a text by using Adrienne Gear Reading Power Teaching Students to Think While they Read. I did some warm-up at the carpet where I had the kids close their eyes and imagine different things, like  Ice cream cone or snow, while drawing their attention to their 5 senses( What does it taste/sound/feel/smell/look like?). I also used Adrienne Gear text  example for students to practice.  For the class activity, I read Stella Queens of Snow-by Marie-Louise Gay to a point where they were able to represent what they heard with drawing. Below is the artifact that came from  practicing visualizing.

In my final practicum, I developed and implemented unit plans and lesson plans in core subject areas. These units were directly linked to the Core-competencies, Big ideas, Curricular competencies, and content areas for both kindergartens and Grade one,  as well as the First People Principles of Learning , demonstrating my ability to sequence skills in a logical and  developmental appropriate ways. Below  are links of my lesson plan and report from my Coaching Teaching.
